Finding My Rhythm

The feeling of dread

curdles in my stomach

wishing I was dead

out of breath at the sumit

I stood with my legs shaking

tongue twisted and tied

a pressed on smile I'm faking

just wishing I could hide

My name is announced

I take a deep breath

onto the stage I bounced

waving off death

My guitar held against me

like a child holds a bear

my feelings like a sea

slowly drowning there

My fingers pluck softly

like a tender kiss

my heartbeat calmly

finally finding rhythm with this
