Figment

Frantically sinking into the Sea of Death

Trying to catch a single breath

A breath of life

That--- for a moment--- can take away the constant strife

The constant pain

That made cold blood run through my veins

That--- for a moment--- can take me to a place

A place where I didn’t have to face

The sight of death-marked fate

Where the Music of Life peacefully plays

As it rapidly fills my airways

But instead

Water was flowing over my head

And I listened for the sound of a tear

The mere destruction of the connection between the body and the mind

Destruction of the heart my destiny signed

The inevitable destiny I searched for but could not find

But now it was here

Converting me into a droplet evaporating into the atmosphere

A water vapor floating in the air

I was only a thought in the wind

A figment that never lived
