Family Man

Propped my foot against the wall

I’d regress to be us for a minute or two

No wonder we’d eventually fall

On the frozen ground near Putnam Ave

Him and I and the lack of love

It all seemed so melanchomical

But maybe just melodical

Hearing windshield wipers screech

Exhausted lungs breathe

Beats as a backdrop

Everything was rhythm but him, me

Us is the forbidden language

Made him think twice about it all

I know I gotta move past the path

I paved with him

The art I gave to him

The days I shaved for him

And I’m never gonna get it back

Was gonna be a family man

Gonna be my family man
