Fading

Do you ever just
Miss someone
Maybe their voice
Or their eyes
Or the way they hugged you so tight that
You could bearly breathe
And do you ever just
Miss the smiles that
No one else knew about
Or the way their hands
Felt and how they were so soft

The scary part
Sometimes
Is when those memories
Start to disappear
And you start to
Forget the sound of their voice
You forget how their eyes felt when
They pierced back at you
You forget their smile
And you forget their touch,
Their hugs,
Almost to a point where you
Are scared
Because you don't want to forget them
But maybe they aren't the ones
Fading away
Maybe it's you

Since I am currently in a long distance relationship going on 1 year and a handful of months, I know exactly what this feels like.

"Miss the smiles that
No one else knew about"

this is a great line. I love it. it shows how intimacy between two people is such a private matter. love it. keep writing =)
