Facade of Confidence

She hides her insecurities,

Behind a mask of confidence,

Pretends she doesn’t see her flaws,

And nothing can touch her,

She laughs loudly and is always perky,

A leader among her friends,

Happy and bubbly with her family,

Often thought to be conceited,

What would they think if they realized her facade,

Do they notice her slight signs of sadness,

Her ever growing lack of self-esteem,

She knows shes a good player,

It's barely any work at all,

Though more and more she wishes she could fail and fall,

Just let it slip and show her true self,

But fake confidence is better than none,

And it has become routine,

It’s become natural,

So she hides her insecurities,

Behind a mask of confidence,

And continues to pretend.
