Eyes

Violet, brown, green and blue

Round and almond shaped

Vision clear and vision blurry

But serve for more than sight alone

They can speak too,

those violet, brown, green and blue

When speaking the truth

pupils lock with whom they

are conveying their message

When honesty has fled

pupils avoid contact, fearful

that their facade will be revealed

They have emotions too,

those violet, brown, green and blue

They occasionally are sad

With their color dull,

curtains drawing slowly

They become excited and passionate

With their shades open, awake,

and sparkling

Oh how they sparkle.

The sparkle that comes about

shouldn’t ever have to say adieu

to those violet, brown, green and blue
