Experience Is Key

Is leaving the classroom too much to ask?

I want to go beyond these barriers.

Beyond this school

And experience the world in its raw form.

I want to be able to say that I’ve not only read about things,

But also that I’ve experienced it.

That I’ve spent time with a professional in my field

And learned what it’s like to do these things.

The class room is a small step.

But how do I know this is the career I want to pursue?

I am a senior in high school,

And if you ask me what I want to be

I’ll tell you, I don’t know, I’m still trying to figure it out.

Students need guidance and reassurance

That only experience can bring.
