everyday is going to be a great day (in honor of victor hernandez cruz)
when poems are publish nationally
people's reaction to what's been read tells it all; it's pricless like a baby's smile
they clap their hands in standing ovation to astonishing words
they dance because the words sang to them
when women are pregnant reading their unborn child poems phonetically
words that harmonizes a heartbeat to skip
it exemplifies that everyday is a going to be a great day
as poems transcend messages to cafes, and bars
it falls upon people in lounges to influence less violence, and more days to look forward to
knowing tomorrow is never promise
when poems kicks in the door
and suffocate politicians with truth
they send security to escort you out the building violating your 1st amendment the right to free speech
when poems scream, the voice echoes emotion in its purity that spreads in the air
penetrating empowerment to polluted smoke that seeks to destroy without reason
this is the time of true poets
to awake like a phoenix rising from the ashes
the time of greatness is awaiting
for someone to dazzle with aspring injecting words that ignite the crowd
and take them to a place never taken before
a true poet aiming
to seek comfort in witnessing people confine to you without even knowing your name
this will mark that everyday is going to be a great day
