Earn Your Golden Age

I never noticed how much of a princess I used to beI owed zero money, had everything handed to meLittle did I know my silver platter had education in itIt wasn't until much later that I realized how much that piece fit The classes I had to take taught me to appreciateVideo game sessions and ice fishing trips, for which I had to waitAnd while I waited, I learned something different dailyI never had monotony to drive me crazy Then I made it to university, got ready for universityBut I thought, "Nah, I think the laid-back life is for me"I dropped all my plans and enjoyed my summer breakBut when fall came around, I found fun memories hard to make "What am I supposed to do with all this time in my hands?""Did I make the mistake of dropping all my college plans?I couldn't even get a job to keep me busy for a whileI felt as if I had nothing to truly make me smile My castle had been taken and replaced with just a stoneIt was then I realized I had to rebuild everything to go back homeI may need help getting on my feet, but now I'm on my wayWhy let great memories pass? This time for sure, I'm going to university
