Before The Dreaming Ends

Sat, 05/08/2021 - 16:04 -- Jawkson

Kids not born with a syndrome,

could still inherent trauma

A whole people over four

generations, treated like lower fauna

Families breaking down

and separating,

nobody has any room

for maintaining

the culture

Colonization’s consequences

have never been spare

Believers of The Dreaming

facing many a nightmare

Aboriginal dreaming frolic,

it’s a crying shame when

the world sees alcoholics

out of them

Communities are smaller,

the trouble getting fiercer

An elder spreads wisdom

but nobody can hear her

Lack of identity, education, and cohesion,

Up crime and suffering trends

A fading culture must be helped

before The Dreaming ends.
