Like a Dream

Location

As he sat down next to me

Casually pulled me onto his lap

He didnt mean it, I couldn't see

I felt my knees get weak and collapse

His smile took me away

When he whispered quietly in my ear

Don't go anywhere, please stay

As he took another swig of his beer

"Dance with me," he pleaded

And I was taken aback by his eyes

Everyone else in the room was quietly seated

I didn't know he was so good at goodbye's.

Now she woke me up from my dream,

As they're walking hand in hand.

A knife through my heart with her cloying beam,

it was time for me to take a stand.

I now see who you truly are,

Different from who I thought you were.

Our memory is like a fleeting star,

You and I were just a blur.
