Stop rushing what you know your heart truly desires,

Because there is a reason that the dream was planted in you and why it sets your soul on fire.

And I know you are disappointed in yourself, because it seems like it is taking too long,

But that could not be further from the truth, and you are looking at it all wrong.

It is taking you longer, because you are doing everything right,

And even though it seems like there isn’t, there is a finish line in sight. 

You are not stepping on anyone to get what you know you deserve,

Because you were the only one who had the nerve.

The nerve to put aside everything that was comfortable, and everything that you knew,

To go after what you truly want, and that is something that some people will never have the 

courage to do.

Whether you see it or not, you are one step closer everyday that goes by,

And no matter what anyone says, you are going to keep going, because you don’t believe in an 

eye for an eye.

You can keep going after what you want, and remain a genuine human being,

And knowing that you can finally let go of your past has become increasingly freeing.

And you don’t care about the comments about how long it is going to take,

Because you are getting it one way or another, and you don’t have to listen to the opinions of the 

snake.

The ones who would never be happy for you if you were able to succeed,

The ones who would offer you a bandaid, while they were also the pens who caused you to 

bleed.

You have been down this road before, and you know that it is nothing new,

And you know that some of them will never support you, simply because it’s you.

So don’t listen to their words, and forget everything that they have to say,

Because regardless of how long it takes you, you can do it your way.
