Don't Hate America

America the Great?

What's happened to you?

You've changed for the worst -

I barely even recognize you.

You were once loving and accepting,

But now you're filled with so much hate,

What did we ever do you?

LGBTQ's and us, the people who belong to minority races.

So much rage and anger,

From crimes against humanity to police brutality,

Where is the love America, that you promised?

Detestation is the new reality and actuality.

America, you've gone down hill, you've gone mad.

I must admit,

I've never seen employment rates so high,

And never thought I would see the day we'd have an orange for a president.

But oh, America the Great!

It's not too late!

To save you and nourish you back to health,

Aversion will no longer be your fate!

What we must do,

Is make laws to protect all kinds of people,

Short, tall, lesbian, gay, muslim, christian, black or mexican -

Love is what you need America, to make you whole.

And as for the police and hate crimes,

I've got an idea for that too,

How about we make officers wear cameras and track their every move,

And maybe then we won't hear about them so much on the news.

Oh, and one last thing America,

To get the employement rates up,

Let's both agree to impeach Trump -

And maybe then people won't hate you so much.
