I've got something important to talk about

You know in life, 

everybody is not always going to treat you the way you would like to be treated, 

But it's not okay.

 It's important that you know what to do about it. 

 

I was too and know what it's like,

From school to sports, 

And everything in life.

Life will face you with challenges

you have to deal with many different people,

some won’t treat you like an equal.

I know you've heard of bullying, 

It's not a mystery or a secret,

But if you listen closely,

You'll know it when you see it.

When it's physical,

it's easier to catch,

Like hitting, tripping or pushing someone, 

Just to get the same thing back.

And when it's verbal, 

you don't hear it every so often

And it's hard to miss,

Like name calling, teasing- 

or any type of malign

But when it's social,

it's not gonna be a kind of physical or vocal,

Like ignoring somebody when they approach you,

Excluding people from games or spreading rumors, and tumors,

Like ya only sits with the losers.

So guard your heart 

So guard your mind,

Because it will always be toyed with.

Cyberbullying is when it happens online.

It might be a heartbreaker or even a threat

On Twitter, Facebook, 

or whatever comes next.

Don't ever let 'em tell you they're just joking or playing,

It doesn't undo what they did and everything they said.

 

Don't be anything but you,

Even if a bully says you're too fat, too short or smart in school.

rock to your own beat, stay true, stay new,

And always stand up for yourself,

And other people too.

 

Anyone can bully, 

or be the one who gets picked on,

Laughed at, called names, or kicked on.

And sometimes there's another person there,

Called a bystander-

Would you imagine if they cared?

Have you ever been a witness?

And seen bullying happen, 

But not take action?

Many people care and feel bad,

But they do nothing when they see it, why?

It's hard to know what to say or to do

Whether you're a bystander,

or the one it's happening to.

But we can come up with some comebacks,

To stop a bully in their tracks, how's that?,

Stay with me and let's try,

Even though it might not work every time.

“How's it feel to have no friends?”—“I feel fine.”

“You're a nerd all you care about is school.”

“Real mature, are you done being cool?”

“Look at Ricky's shoes, his style is so trash.”

“Actually I'm thinking about getting some with my cash.”

You get the point, let the air out their tires,

And try to pour water every time they start fires.

Always do what's right, never bully or fight,

Or be a silent bystander when it's in your sight.

Inform an adult or stand up when you're a target

Your actions can help even though you didn't start it.
