Disenfranchised: A New Definition

Location

Clipping coupons for a retail dream,
Squandering beneath the ivory seam.
One hundred dollars to spread through the month:
food and heat, no frivolities.

Took second mortgages on the ideal,
Pushing food on a plate
Another unwanted meal
How can it be the richest are starving?
Corporation, the great:
A pig the world’s carving

Citizens, keep yourself afloat
But be like an iceberg:
ten percent swimming,
the rest submerged.
