The blaring heat 

  --no relief.

A rented bedroom I don't even pay for

The smell of the store and freshly purchased paperback novels

A sense of loneliness

  with some flirtatious emails

Long bus rides and leaving work past midnight

A monotony so insanely mind-numbing that I 

ditched a best friend to start the worst relationship of my life

  without batting an eye.

I felt suffocated by 

  a tall lamp in the corner

  a full sized mattress

  and a plastic name tag.
