On the Diamond

When I'm on the diamond

I feel at home

When I'm on the diamond

It's my own little dome.

When I'm on the diamond

I become very calm

When I'm on the diamond

I need no balm.

When I'm on the diamond

My thoughts do not race

When I'm on the diamond

Only to the batters do I give chase.

When I'm on the diamond

I exude proficiency

When I'm on the diamond

I am the model of efficiency.

When I'm on the diamond

The cheers do not bother me

When I'm on the diamond

I have single minded intensity.

When I'm on the diamond

I feel filled with fire

When I'm on the diamond

I never seem to tire.

When I'm on the diamond

I am David Allen the strong man

When I'm on the diamond

I do what no one else can.
