Demons

It took me a long time to realize that we all have things in our pasts that we are not proud of,

But in a strange way, maybe these hard times are actually gifts that are sent from above.

I have come to realize that if you don't deal with your past, it will always control you,

And that if you don't conquer your demons, than there is nothing else that you can do.

Many of us, including myself, are ashamed of the things that we have been through,

But the more you allow yourself to be vulnerable, the more you can see that there are others you have gone though it too.

It gets to the point where you finally realize that enough is enough,

And that you can handle anything that you have been through, even though sometimes it may get rough.

A lot of us put it off because we know that overcoming these things will be extremely hard,

But letting it control you longer is much worse, and will only leave you scarred.

Admitting that we have a difficult past and fighting these stories is not an easy task,

But you can only keep it hidden for so long before the truth comes out from behind the mask.

This journey is hard and scary, and it can leave you feeling frustrated and alone,

But it won't be long before your past can no longer control you, and you suddenly remember that you are home.

Never forget that it's okay to scream, and it's okay to cry,

But no matter what, you have to keep going, and you have to be willing to give it a try.

It doesn't matter how long it takes you, and it doesn't matter if you fail along the way,

Because all you can do is try your best, and take it day by day.

As long as everytime you fall, you always allow yourself to get back up and you never stay down,

Because it is still your story, and you always have the opportunity to turn it around.

Remember that you don't quit, and that you have always been a fighter,

And with every step you take in the right direction, your future will become brighter, and your past will be much lighter.
