I feel him on my back,

The demon that’s riding me,

He’s been with me through everything.

Every panic attack,

He’s the one on my chest

Making it hard to breathe,

As I gasp in air.

Any moment of anxiety,

He is edging my heart to go faster

My mind to go over drive.

Any moment I feel starve,

He secretly tells me to not eat,

I can go without food for a little longer

As my waist shrinks.

Every night that I’m awake,

Screaming in my head

Saying I’m not good enough,

And I’m a failure.

How long do we have a demon with us.

How can we get rid of it,

I need to shake him off my back

And get my life on track.
