A thousand thoughts lie unspoken

A medley of words in my head

I could never bring myself to say things out loud

So I kept my silence instead

Too many unexpressed ideas

Too many questions of confusion

Too many critiques and complements

Too many discovered illusions

From tales of disrespect

Secrets of the masses

To enjoyment and praise

Unanimous among classes

Of all the words I never said

If there were two I could choose

To say out loud for you to hear

Those words would be “Thank You.”
