Dear John,

They think I’m crazy.
They tell me I am, but you never do.
Samuel and Will think I’m crazy too.

John, I’m thinking about killing myself.
You’ve always been here for me and I’m so sorry.
I’ll be killing you too, they say.

I believe you’ll be strong because you always have been.
Why can’t I be strong?
Samuel and Will are strong too.

John, I’m sorry I have to leave you.
The room is getting darker though
As is life.

The doctors tell me it’s a phase.
They say you’re not real.
They keep repeating “schizophrenia.”

I don’t know what that means, John, and I’m scared
They tell me that if you and Will and Samuel can be strong
I can too.

You’re my friend
But you’re not me.
At least I don’t think so.

I sincerely thank you
But these people cannot help me
And nor can you. Not anymore.

Goodbye, John.
