Dear Dad, A Letter From Your Son

Sun, 02/11/2018 - 21:23 -- ejpip25

Dear Dad,

You have missed a lot.

You missed me growing into a man.

You are who you were not.

You missed me finally being happy.

And I guess I just wanted to say

(And I’m not being sappy.)

That this is goodbye.

I don’t care what you think of me.

I don’t need your approval anymore

But what you can’t see

Is that I miss you a lot.

You tell me you love me

but still pray that I will change.

I tell you this is who I need to be

and pray that you will love me.

I wish it didn’t have to be this way

but here we are.

I don’t have anything else to say.

Love,

Your Transgender Son
