A day passes

A day passes with the click of a clock
A meaningless motion of an arbitrary decree.
You’ve endured another rotation
You’re a day older
Valuable consent and accessible vices.I feel no different
I don’t notice the change.
Standing behind a cash register, it means the end of a long day.
None of us do
The night-owls
The people of darkness
Insomniacs, voluntary and unwilling, Defy the unwritten laws of silence:
Stirring
Rocking
Tossing
Writing
Dancing
Singing
Drinking.
Refusing to cease until persistence is physically impossible,
We notice no change. But the clocks do
The day begins.
The night ends in tension,
Resolves in the morning
11:59 to 12AM
This minute that mattersA day passes with the click of a clock
A meaningless motion of an arbitrary decree.
