The Day I Changed
The shadow of your hand lingers on my skin,
While tire tracks engrave upon the dirt.
The day you left was the day I changed,
The memory of you will never be the same.
I wish you could see the debt you owe,
for inside and out my soul is low.
The day you left was the day I changed,
I'm no longer counting down the days.
Death doesn't seem like minutes away,
The taste in my mouth hasn't gone astray.
When you left I finally knew,
I wasn't meant to be with you.
No more tears.
No more pain.
After you I finally knew,
My suicidal self was caused by you.
