Last year I drowned in the sea of darkness and lament
So many mistakes I made that weren’t my intent
The time I spent on that path made me blind
To my friends and family that I left behind
The depths of darkness seemed nearly impossible to escape
I couldn’t see I couldn’t breathe I was filled with regrets and hate
But then I was grabbed by many hands of light
That pulled me back to the path that was bright
My mother, my father, my siblings, my friends
Thank you for pulling me out of the dark sea and this is where my story begins

I wrote this on January first of 2013. 2012 was a very depressing time for me and this poem is just describing my feelings and thanking those who are important to me.
