In Darkness

Tue, 11/18/2014 - 18:46 -- hburke

I am standing in a crowd of people.
I feel their presence all encompassing,
Like a child I bare my sensibilities,
Kicking and screaming for amenity.
I close my eyes in terror.
Frozen.
My lips shudder and my screams are muffled,
By the constant motion of nothing.
This silence is suffocating.
This world begins to darken.
Even in the safety of my conscious mind,
I am voiceless.
