In The Dark

Let the stars shine tonight

For they have not in a long time.

Their show was stole one night

People didn't notice this crime,

For the thieves are their man-made lights

Ripped out of the sky

And replaced with bulbs of chemical shine

Humans have fought for many years against the dark;

Fear that their sight cannot help in the pitch black

Bring forth a mini sun

Win the battle with a glorious spark

Stronger,

Brighter,

Whiter,

Wounding the sky gave more reasons for more lights

Looking up and the moon and space,

Fewer stars have shown their face

Cities must turn their unnecessary light low

So others may enjoy the last of their magnificent glow
