Currents of Life

Free and flowing,
It glides along the banks,
On a journey of it’s own
Sometimes rushing,
At other times calm and glassy.

A lily floats peacefully in the pond,
Crickets, the only sound.
I lie in the soft grass and caress the mirrored surface,
Breaking the stillness with ripples.

Carrying a ship, the shimmering ocean glints.
The moonlight sparkles across its liquid expanse
Illuminating my world in the suns absence.

On the coast,
The tide rises and falls with the pull of the moon.
Waves crash against the rocky cliffs,
The refreshing spray damp on my skin.

At peace with myself,
I listen to the gulls in their endless cacophony
And drink in the salty air,
As the wind toys with my hair.
