Crumbled Cabin - 9/24/14

I loved our home

it took so much to build

the door our joined hands

the roof one another's protection

dad after day we built it till it became

our little cabin

our feet kept toasty warm

our hearts safe and sound

i really did love our home

it was peace

but always

the vines would creep in eventually

that first creeping vine was that kiss you had with her

we cleaned and rebuilt our home again

cozy, safe and sure again

earthquakes shook the world around

but none touched our cabin not at all

but then you brought the flood,

soaking us to the bones

the girl with the mansion was where you had gone

and stayed a little in the warm

i'm sorry our cabin was too quaint for you

but now the earthquake has crumbled our cabin too
