Covered Up

Behind the curtains of my eyes

Hides a glare

A stare

A lie

The carefully crafted façade

The fragile, cheap disguise

Behind a mask lies another

Feeble layer of an onion

Peeling off

Thin skin

Breakable walls hide me in

Once you tear

And rip apart

The filters that keep me cold

You will find the purest heart

Warmed by a simple soul
