The courage to speak

And there was the stage

filled with emptiness and vacancy

begging for someone to stand on it

with their two feet.

walking on stage wasn’t the problem

pulling the voice out from the deep deep bottom,

was the fear.

The fear that you would be judged... ridiculed

for anything that danced out

knowing that your voice is trembling without a doubt.

with the help of

looking off into the distance

to block the crowd

I suddenly hear someone

loud, proud, so I confidently

Smiled!
