colors

the world is full of color

its flashing all around

one right after another

always and never found

some are friendly and warm

others dark and cold

colors will never do any harm

nor a color can you hold

the colors I could never name

as they go by I see them blur

I never see them the same

for this there is no cure

as I watch the colors I know

I am not like the rest

sometimes different is good though

and sometimes it's just a mess

I can never make sense of them

the colors always swirling

most are dark and grim

but occasionally a bright one comes twirling

they say I see nothing

that the colors were imagined

but a song so sweet they sing

the colors that are wild as the wind

sometimes I begin to wonder

how it ended up this way

were the colors once asunder

and how ever did I stray
