Colder than Night

Colder than Night

            Grimacing upon light

            Trudging in sorrow

            Contradicting death

            Let them come over tomorrow

                Stalking halls through the walls

                Facing eyes from the sky’s

                Menacing with faint sounds

                A tap or snap

                Shy from big white lights

                Lurking in the dark

                Hungering from a bite

                Perched in fear

                Driven by ear

                They hear you breath

                They feel your heartbeat

Racked by scars, commenced by masters

                Set loose like hounds

Just behind the black white line

                Decayed as the sun drops

They inch further into your domain

Only until the light goes away

                Cometh they will

                Unto you

                To feel their touch

                Unseen but felt

Spreading  black ice

                More troubling than lice

                Colder than night
