coastal evacuation warning

warning of magic
words of danger imply
coastal
evacuation warning

tides roaring
tides rising
sea amok
sea going bezerk
sea that is endless
ending life as we all know it
on the ocean
on edge
on the shores
on the cusp of all that means life
and the beginning with no limits

each time i hear the phrase
coastal evacuation warning
i inhale and see it in my head
i exhale on what will be the aftermath
the walls of water, never ending
high, higher,and even highest
reaching over the fragility of sand and grass
at its most vulnerable state
making the end of time seem nearby
today, now, and someday again

coast has been evacuated more than once
but the coast, the dune, the beach is here
in my head, my face, my soul, and in my heartbeat
