Champions

Dreams are among the stars

In sight, but out of reach

Til one falls, shooting fire.

Seeing this must then teach

The law of desire

If they can fall, we can rise, however far.

And rise we did, dreaming

And reaching for the stars,

We landed on the moon.

Americans without bars

Planted a flag that soon

Faded from glory to the color of peace.

Red, white, and blue refer

To things beyond color

Of blood and sacrifice

Purity together

Perseverance in ice,

Yet these things paled in the company of stars

We long for Space but why?

To have a world waiting

But ignored for the chase

Oceans demand seeking

yet Space wins this race

Champions look up, not down or so we are taught.
