Centerville, TN

I grew up thinking

this is how I have to be

look like everyone else

act the same way

we're in the middle of nowhere

I could never understand

how someone could settle here

and think it's a dream

fields and fields of nothing

only run down shops

and closed minded inhabitants

who never escape

I always knew there was more to me

than this town could offer

once I escaped

I had the world at my feet

now I come back

to where it all began

sit alone at the park

where I wrote my lyrics on the fence

I see the people that roam here

and wonder if they know

that there's more to offer

than this town could possibly hold
