Catcalling

Catcalling

“Slow down ma, Nice legs.”

Who are you calling “ma”?

Me? Up the block?

You call at me like I’m some dog,

And you're not?

Speaking to a sister like that

Would your “ma” like you speaking to women like that?

“Nice legs huh”?

How ‘bout you watch them walk away from you-

My body feels like storm brewing over, ready to strike at anything it comes across

Catcalling is disrespectful

Catcalling gets you nowhere with me but a middle finger

My fist as tight as my heart

That we are still treated like meat

WE DESERVE MORE AND NOT LESS

WE WILL NOT BE DEGRADED BY RANDOMS

WE WILL NOT BE TREATED LESSER THAN

WE WILL NOT BE DISRESPECTED

FOR WE ARE STRONG BEINGS OF THE WORLD
