Can You Hear Me?

Thu, 10/30/2014 - 00:12 -- Rhys

Smiling, laughing, eternally cheery

Why can't anyone hear my screaming?

Showing the world my best face

Make sure that the mask stays

So happy with my life

I'm conflicted by strife

Confident, fearless, outright bold,

Scared I'll never live to be old

Smile like I believe everything will be okay

Just a lie cause I don't plan on living another day

I have to say that I do hear you. I hear all of it as clear as day. I feel like a lot of people don't hear that and, in that, don't worry about suicide, at least not like I do. I really like the structure as it provides more evidently that divide between what they see and what we see as those feeling such. Very true, very real, and very well-written.
