Bubble Gum

Tic-Tac-Toe. Three in a row.

I must confess, I'm cold. Baby, I'm cold.

I'm a heartbreaker. But love fills our lungs like air and we must breathe it in.

We were made to feel passion and have it crack more than a few moments in a life time.

My finger tips are wrinkly from the leaky faucet in my eyes.

The top of my head wears a crown of thorns to try and poison my scary thoughts.

The pops of my pink bubblegum are shrieks of help that no one can hear.

*Pop, pop, pop* There I go again. Chewing instead of grinding on my teeth.

*Smack, smack, smack* The veins through my skin are pumping.

*POP* Baby, don't leave.

*POP* Daddy is home and his smile is upside down.

The roses in my cheeks are wilted and pale.

Now they lie with petals fallen, where Daddy's care is nowhere to be found.

Mommas in the alley, buying her smiles with pills and shivers.

*POP* Baby, I need you.

*POP* I'm losing my mind without you here.

The nights are getting colder, my heart is growing weaker.

My lids are feeling heavier and my eyes are always blood-shot.

I carry my remains with me under my button-blues.

*POP* Baby, I love you.

*POP* Baby, I needed you.

My gum is stale, it has lost it's flavor.

Tic-Tac-Toe. Three in a row.

Baby, I love you. I just wanted to hear "I love you too."
