Broken and Torn

Broken and torn I look out the window, rain pours down like tears from the sky.

I try moving forward but I keep falling down, someone whispers lies in my mind.

I cant let the tears out but I cant hold them in, pushing and tearing I cant help but give in.

My heart cries out for some unknown love, a love I once had is now gone like the dust.

Broken and torn I open the door, wondering if that car would stop on the whim.

I try stepping forward but the earth crumbles again, you are a failure I hear again, and again.

I hold the pain in as it pierces my heart, making a hole that seems to big to be filled.

My heart screams out to be held once again, but no one can hear me as I bury my head.

Broken and torn I pull out a knife, put it to my heart as tears fill my eyes.

I try pushing forward but no strength fills my arms,  just jump off a cliff I hear in my heart.

Hold it all in I say to myself, but in the end I break down and it all comes gushing out.

As my heart sags down deep in despair, I wish my life away like its to much to bear.

Broken and torn I look to the sky, hoping and praying their might be a sign.

I push myself up and walk to the door, standing outside as the rain pounds down like a hammer to my heart.

Face lifted up I look at the clouds, slowly they part and bright sunlight shines out.

My face aglow as I look around, noting the darkness as I stand in the light.

Broken and torn I open my heart, to the warm sunlight as it strongly shines down.

Though the heartache and pain he’s always there, holding my hand like a friend always there.

Its then I know that I’m not alone, for holding my heart is the greatest friend ever known.

My heart soars with joy knowing I can live on, and be a light to the world when darkness comes along.
