Bright the Night

Stars that bright the night

Shine shimmer and glow

Stars in graceful flight

Watch as down they go

Will they burn like a flame

Or will they die an ember?

Does anybody stop to look

Will anyone remember?

Down from heaven they fall

And then they fade away

But I yearn to catch one

And in my heart it’ll stay

But those that shine the brightest

Are too much to bear

But they are so brilliant

Their distance is not fair

I guess the price of beauty

Is never to be held

They are meant to be set free

Not hidden from the world

So if you catch a falling star

Always let it go

Because its beauty is a gift

The world deserves to know
