Breathe

Location

Breathe

I inhale the toxins of the world

They weigh down on me like Atlas

tear me up from the inside out

I’m suffocating

All the things I’ve seen are

Nothing compared to living it out

Not a home to go to,

Or a family to have your back

I’ll never know that

Yet, I can’t look away

What if that was me?

I set aside my worries

Think how I’ve been blessed

With something many don’t have

I’m not rich. Even with my problems

What never failed to help me deal with them,

Was to take a sheet of paper and

Exhale my words upon the page.
