"Bonnie"
As the leaves decay and the wren takes flight,
I thank my God for you, this autumn night.
For the stories, of many, you may never reveal;
That life threw your way, giving you your zeal.
Tonight, the rain continues in a hushed whisper;
But tomorrow, my love, shall be ever clearer.
As hours until dawn are mysteriously oblique,
It is in theses moments, our silence will speak.
As endurance and sacrifices are utterly evident,
The work of your hands is entirely prevalent.
Your legacy lives through the lives of others;
As we carry it faithfully, sisters and brothers.
As time goes on and the leaves, they die,
When the winter comes and the wren must fly;
This legacy shall prevail, so none can deny,
Triumphantly heard, above the rain’s lullaby.
