Black Hole

Black hole upon my chest,

Set me free and let me rest.

Defying gravity and fate as I may

I only break down in tears when I pray.

Tossing in turmoil, repressing violent thought.

Waging wars inside my head that can no longer be fought.

Losing valor, losing sleep.

Hear me cry and watch me weep.

Do you see me as being weak?

I only break when I begin to speak.

Forgive me for my fragility.

For I lack the common sensibility.

To understand that nothing in this world can be pure

We all become tainted as we stand together in fear

Guide me through the shattered glass

Scathed and weary—just let me pass.

Black hole upon my chest,

Set me free and let me rest.
