Beware the Brutal Beast

Mon, 03/22/2021 - 02:25 -- BlairC

Red droplets on the pavement

Still bodies in the street

The stench of putrefaction

Whenever opposites meet

Ebony and ivory

The contrast oh so stark

The monster claims another

As man’s vision goes dark

The monster crushed his windpipe

And put bullets in her back

Snuffed their lives out like candle flames

Always on the attack

It doesn’t matter who you are

If you catch the monster’s eye

Black, Brown, Beige, White

The beast wants you to die

The monster will ignore your pleas

And focus on your death

It will laugh with its fellow beasts

As you take your final breath

The monster wants to rend your flesh

Your name is on its list

And as for your offense

All you did was simply exist

The beast knows not of peace and love

It knows only death and hate

By the time people come to your aid

It always is too late

When you see the monster coming

With its red-blue flashing eyes

Make peace with your creator

As the beast brings your demise

Red droplets on the pavement

You’ll lie still in the street

The screams and tears of loved ones

Should you and the monster meet
