Behind These Blue Eyes

I smile, I laugh, and live joyful days

But underneath my smile,

There's nothing but a haze.

I smile, and laugh, living joyful days

But in the echo of my laughter,

You can hear my cries of pain.

I smile, I laugh, and live joyful days

But in the small moments of the day,

They're nothing to me,

But days of hurt and torture.

I ask for help from you,

But you do nothing but walk away.

My tears stain my eyes,

And in the pillow you barely hear my muffled cries.

But on the outside all you see

Is my smile, my laugh, my glee

But behind these bright blue eyes,

All that's left is nothing but the sorrow and shame,

Of my hurt and pain.
