"Beginning to End"
Take the nails out.
Don’t you hear them?
Those fists pounding
On the coffin,
Rusted fruit binding him
To life recycled in an earthbound bin.
Noises argue within,
Resounding;
Teeth latching to the sides,
A snake to witness after you’ve died,
A god to witness at some point in time -
And only then.
Let it not deter you, Adam,
When, reconstructed to the atom,
You face the clay from which you were made
Once again.
Let me not fear for you, Adam,
When, deconstructed to the atom,
You lower to the dirty cradle
And I will you to be born again.
