Because I Can.
Location
What once was three-fifths is now one whole.
What was once whipped and chained lives in my soul.
I write because I can.
Did you know that my voice is heard in this land?
The land of the free and the home of the slave.
Where opinions are bountiful but minds are concave.
I write because I can.
The forces of my mind, body and soul collide.
And the words flow freely like ice cream down the arm of a carefree child on a sunny day.
The literacy literally uplifts me. Us.
We rise through the syntax.
The metaphors give us wings.
The letters make us sing.
So. I write.
Because I can.
