To Be With You Again
I thought that You were gone,
your soul in the hands of Death.
I remember You lying there,
every word spoken a shattered breath.
But, there You stood,
an impossibility, a miracle.
I cried as we embraced,
my voice, utterly hysterical.
It was later discovered,
that no man could be immortal.
the tears ravaged my face,
as You stepped through the afterworld’s portal.
Thankfully, Death had been kind.
He was a good friend.
I quickly joined You and that was The End.
