Atlas and the Earth

Many believe they are carrying,

the weight of the world on their shoulders.

But they do not know the pain,

of holding up a dead thing on their own.

Their crimes are often varying,

but as I grow older and older,

I realize that their violent strain,

is turning the ground to stone.

The noise from the media is wearying.

The hearts of Earth’s citizens are getting colder.

The planet’s resources are going down a drain.

They are entering a no return zone.

But instead of simply tarrying,

the losses and ignoring closure,

heed the scientists’ warning and abstain,

from wasting resources they cannot hope to clone.

Stop the planet from burying,

them all because of a policyholder,

allow the Earth to breathe again,

and their mistakes they will surely atone.

Many believe they are carrying,

the weight of the world on their shoulders.

But until they accept responsibilities’ pain,

The Earth will take them out one by one.
